A young couple about to dive into the Ottawa Real Estate Market with me, their Realtor. Here we talk about the fundamental first steps required to position yourself to enter the Realestate market for the first time.
Meet Anna.
A single, young professional. Anna is debating if it's the right time to enter the Real Estate market or if she should wait until she is in a relationship and has the benefit of dual income to support the investment of home ownership.
Anna finds herself in the classic scenario of debating between renting or buying. These are my thoughts on the situation.
Meet Omar and Mary,
This couple finds themselves in an all too familiar scenario. With a growing family they are feeling like they have out grown their current home and are looking to upsize but remain in the same school district for their children. Here is my advice for them.
Meet Peter and Maggie,
This couple is looking to right size. They are mortgage free and their children are all grown up and have moved out of the family home. They currently occupy a nice, well maintained home however it's more space than they need/want. How do they go about making a move to suit their lifestyle better?

Buying a house can be tricky but since we had dealt with Gabriel to sell one of our rental properties a few years ago and were very happy with his services it was an easy decision to call on him again to help us find a bungalow that suite our needs and once again we were not disappointed!
He set us up with email notifications of all new listings in the areas that interested us plus if a particular property came up that might fit our requirements he would send an additional email or make a phone call to bring the listing to our attention!
After a few months of checking out the few bungalows that came up for sale he called us about a new listing in Orleans that was only a few hours old. It was one that we liked so we went to see it the next day! He was able to answer our questions and it was obvious after after that visit that we wanted to make an offer but they were only accepting offers the following week. Gabriel guided us through the bidding process plus a second visit to the property and helped us make a bid with a twist and even though we were not the highest bidder the sellers came back to us for the final negotiations and what difficult and tricky negotiations they ended up being! And we got the house.
We are moving in, in a few weeks and even if the purchase was already done we had several questions for the sellers and Gabriel was able to forward all those to the sellers and ensure that we got the answers. We are extremely happy with the services we have had thus far and whenever we plan to sell our other rental properties... guess who will get the listings.
In closing let’s not forget the yearly get togethers that Gabriel organizes for his past, present and potential customers. Those gatherings are a real blast!

Purchasing a first home is a big step in one’s life that carries with it incredibly strong financial and emotional stress. Gabriel De Varennes made this experience for me to be a wonderful experience and I really can’t thank him enough. He truly listens to what you want, he is detail-oriented, he is extremely patient, he does his research and he is always available. He truly is incredible to work with.
When I first approached Gabriel, he sat down with me and asked me all the right questions. This being my first home, however, I really didn’t know what I was looking for or where. Gabriel took me to see about 40 homes in one month and ran through every scenario with me to help me narrow down what I was really looking for. Once that was set, we went to see a few places until he suggested a unit that I hadn’t put on my list, but that he had previously seen with other clients. Since I trusted his advice, I happily accepted his suggestion, even though this was a unit that had some aspects I was not the most excited about on paper in terms of the yard and unit size. However, as soon as I saw the unit, I knew this was the perfect fit for me, and the location was incredible. Gabriel also knew it was possible I was moving in the near future so he made sure that my unit would be easy to rent if that scenario presented itself. Gabriel then helped me through moments of high stress that come with making an offer, but I knew I was in the right hands. This was three years ago.
Since then, I have moved, and he is in charge of finding tenants for my unit.
Gabriel is brilliant, I cannot stress enough how strongly I recommend working with him. I have suggested to him to all my friends and family.
I also want to add that every person Gabriel suggested along the way such as the inspector, the lawyer and the mortgage broker were all great to deal with. He has really found a great team to work with and I would encourage anyone to take his suggestions.
